Organize your Bathroom

Most of us think about our time in the bathroom as time to get ready for our day or what we need to do at the end of our day.

Bathroom organization can get us out the door quickly or have us stressed trying to find what we need.

I thought I would give you a few quick tips on typical things I seem to find when re-organizing a bathroom for a client.

First be sure to have a trash can to quickly go through each drawer and cabinet and purge those things that you may have kept that gave you a rash, items that you only used a portion of and now needs to go, or items that just don't belong in this space.

Next think about the unused vertical space under the bathroom sink. We all seem to have them, and it can double the amount of storage you can use if you implement the vertical space! Think about stackable drawers and lazy susan's (around those pesky drains).

Then group items together, such as lotions, hair care, cleansers, medications. When grouped you will quickly be able to take inventory before purchasing because you will be able to see everything.

Finally when it comes to the drawer space think about using clear bins that fit in a drawer. When grouping smaller items together in the drawers you increase the organization exponentially, then things like hair ties, floss, toothbrushes and lip balm don't move all around each time the drawer is opened, those items stay put and don't mix.

It might be tedious to do this initially but you will be glad when you see how much time you save yourself on a daily basis. As well as saving money by seeing the inventory that you have, you will not find yourself with multiple bottles of shampoo when you only need one backup in the cabinet instead of 5!
